Great Creative Minds ARE Kind and Compassionate Minds

I posted this on Facebook as well and will also say now that I am embarrassed that I have neglected my blog like I have and promise to be a better blogger from now on.  Promise!  :)

This is a little example of what helps shape and make an exceptionally creative mind and don’t think it can be argued.  Compassionate and kind and humane and respecting ALL life is a BIG part of it.

I don’t think there would be ANYONE on this planet that would not recognize the fact that Guy Aitchison is an artist far above and beyond and has taken the tattoo to an entire other galaxy and indeed DID reinvent the tattoo. And I think it’s VERY important that people know this great and exceptional mind is not only a hardcore vegetarian but also a VERY kind person to ALL animals. This was an image I took when Guy and I took a drive to release some mice he was compassionate enough to trap and NOT kill into the wild to run free and not come back to the house. And that’s a BIG part of what makes him who he is and allows him to do what he does. Fact. And this was taken about 5 years ago when NO Facebook so NOT a photo opp or anything…simply how we live our lives and took this so people can see how great minds get to where they are and why they are SO great like his is.

Busy busy busy.

It has been a second since I got my blog on, but was busy working and busy with life so did not have a ton of time for anything else except making sure I got up on time after lots of late night editing.  I have been doing much more work with video lately and really been schooling myself with the post sides of thing with some new softwares such as Final Cut Pro and some other Pro audio softwares so LOTS to take in to say the least.  The goal is to get as proficient with the post side of video as I am with the post side of the still world which I feel confident I will achieve in time.

I was busy last week shooting mops, which I cannot say which popular brand they were, but let me tell you it was EXCITING!  :)  And today I had a photo shoot at US Cellular Field for a July cover of our local Chicagoland Tails Magazine which is going to feature Chicago White Sox pitcher Mark Buehrle, his wife Jaimie, and 4 awesome doggies whose names I do not all remember, but they were cute!  Mark and his wife were great and got the shot so all good.

I will be adding more content as my time frees up a bit so keep checking back and stay tuned for my travels coming up for leg two of my Costa Rican journey which should be pretty interesting.

“The Mountain” Time Lapse

I wanted to take the time to share an absolutely stunning visual treat for your senses and your soul.  Actually that is the coolest time lapse I have EVER seen and is simply perfect just like our planet and universe.  And it’s a shame more don’t realize how lucky we truly ALL are just being a part of this for even a second.  Enjoy.  “The Mountain” by Terje Sorgjerd

NEW Korg iELECTRIBE Gorillaz Edition for iPad

As of recent I have really been getting into these music apps for the iPad because of how well and PRO they are made and of course my love for music and one of my favorites hands down is Korg’s iELECTRIBE.  I heard about this by knowing it was one of the apps the Gorillaz used to produce their latest album and when I saw the new Korg iELECTRIBE Gorillaz edition for the iPad I had NO choice but to give it a whirl!  Both the original Korg iELECTRIBE and the new Korg iELECTRIBE Gorillaz edition are both totally worth buying in my opinion and can easily get lost for hours learning and figuring out yourself how things work.  They are essentially beatboxes for those who are not familiar…meaning you can make beats!  Believe that, right?  :)  Whether it’s tinkering around with the presets that they provide you or starting from scrath laying the groundwork for your own masterpiece I can almost promise you endless hours of fun and a very cool and unique aural experience so check it!  :)

I uploaded a quick sample track of a quick creation just to show you what is possilbe in a matter of minutes.  Create and share if you dare!  :O  You can listen here.

Jellies!!!! at the Shed Aquarium

Well today I woke up to snow on the ground in mid April and was really contemplating laying in bed and calling it a day under the covers, but got a bug up my butt and glad I did to see Jellies at the Shed Aquarium here in Chicago.  The weather was ick, but had to do it and took the drive and paid the $16 for parking to get to the Shed where there was the biggest line I have personally ever seen there, but managed to talk to someone at the Shed and and they were nice enough and helpful enough to get me in a bit quicker.  I took some pretty cool pictures while there and shot some video that you can see here so you can experience the jellies in HD for your viewing pleasure, but definitely suggest going for yourself to experience first hand.  Jellies move slow so made a bit longer video to sit back and relax and slow down to a jellies pace…it’s good to SLOOOWWW down the pace in your life anyway ANY chance you get.  :)

Quintessential Barrington Anti-Fur Email

As some of you may have followed on Facebook I just recently donated around eleven fur coats that I had in my possession to The Humane Society of the United States Coats for Cubs program which uses the fur to rehabilitate animals back to health.  You can see the program in action here and what a positive impact it has on the animals.

Evolving our consciousness to respect ALL life and raising awareness is part of my goal while residing on this planet.  Where I live here in Barrington, Illinois there is a local publication Quintessential Barrington which I have had a problem with for quite sometime because of their continued advertisements for multiple furriers in their publication.  For some reason I seem to be one of the few that am bothered by this, but being the minority is not new at all to me.  And in the latest issue they featured images of wildlife from Costa Rica which pushed me over the edge being so near and dear to my heart knowing they are running ads promoting the slaughtering of animals in the same breathe.  I find this repulsive and hypocritical.

I wanted to share the letter I sent in to them this evening and also welcome anyone else that is willing whether in the area or not to do the same.  There is a contact form on their site.  As I stated in my letter to them, being in the year 2011 our culture is evolving beyond hedonistic displays such as wearing furs.  You can click here to see the exact letter I emailed their way.  Thanks!

iPhone4 OWLE Bubo

The OWLE Bubo for the iPhone4 is a pretty darn slick product made of anodized billet aluminum I will be getting soon to test out and see what can be done with this.  This is basically a housing to allow a professional piece of glass to be used to give a more professional look and feel to your video while using your iPhone.  I am excited to see what can be done with this and will keep you posted once in my hands.  You can see for now though a side by side comparison video to give you an idea of the noticable difference right out of the box here.
